Saving Soccer from the Feebs

That makes too much sense and is so North American in it's inventiveness that Europe would automatically shit all over it.The English especially hate any ideas that come from North American sports.  To them we are all Bush and Cheney.

I came up with most of those solutions years ago.  I actually like the idea of 3 points for a win and no points for a tie or loss.  In fact, get rid of the tie.  Sports are meant to be won or lost, not drawn.  Secondly, video replay for all questionable decisions.  No yellow or red cards.  Instead, a major foul that would be a card offence would for the player off for ten minutes and no more than two players can be off at any one time.
If players are caught playing dirty and rough, they will get the penalty and if video
replay shows the infraction to be very violent, they get sent off for the whole game.  Same goes to divers and actors.  If a player  dives or fakes injury, he gets five minutes.  If it happens and brings on a penalty shot, the instant replay takes away the penalty shot and the player gets suspended.

The biggest change would be to award teams for scoring goals.  3 points for a win but a point for every goal scored.  United beats Chelsea 3-2 the points for the game would be 6 for United and 2 for Chelsea.  3 points for the win plus 3 points for three goals. Chelsea get 0 points for the loss but they get two points for the 2 goals.  This would promote attacking play and would force teams to not just settle for a 1-0 win.
As a last gasp attempt to open the game up and create more goal scoring, I'd be open to expanding the width and height of the goals 6 to 12 inches.  Todays defences are too strong and goalkeepers today are very agile and can stop almost anything.  Having to cover that extra foot could make a big difference.
Grognard knows best.
